This was probably our favorite place in Rome. This is as must if you visit. Great find. Small but amazing food and ambience. Cacio e Pepe is the best we had in Italy.

It's also in a great area. You can easily walk to it and it's an amazing area too explore.

TIP: they book up fast and in advance. Be sure and reserve a table and don't miss your reservation. We stayed over an hour. It's very relaxing. Book through their website or call.

Omg! Roscioli is soo good. When you go to Italy, you want to have delicious Italian food. This place is the picture perfect image of what you expect a good Italian restaurant to be: great food, educated staff, and being surrounded by wine. When you walk in there is literally wine everywhere of varying prices. You wouldn't except any less from an Italian restaurant in Italy.

They have great wine selection, but I decided to let the waiter decide what I might like best. I told him what I was ordering and my preferences and he chose a delectable wine. I wish I could remember the name so I could have purchased a bottle before going home.

For an appetizer, we ordered the Fiori Di Zucca. COURGETTE FLOWERS with oxtails and fried. They were sooo good and something I had never had before... when in Rome! I loved the texture and the flavor was great; however, nothing was better than the pasta. I ordered the "LA GRICIA" DI STEFANO. It was some of the best pasta I have ever had. It was full of flavor and tasted fresh. My fiancé ordered the  LA CARBONARA. Based on all of the reviews from this restaurant the Carbornara is a classic here. While it was amazing, I liked my dish more. I love a red sauce which the "La gricia" di Stefano had.

Overall, this place is a must if you want delicious pasta in Rome.

After hearing so many rave reviews about the well known Roman bread makers and purveyors of Italian delicacies, my husband and I were psyched to dine at Roscioli salumeria. It is quite challenging to snag a table here and the narrow small space, although super cool and quaint, is the limiting factor. It is bustling at all hours and the vibe is very vibrant. But if you're looking for an atmosphere with locals, this is probably not the best choice.

Our server was nice if not a tad gruff. We were seated at a tiny two top along one of the walls in the back of the restaurant. It seems like there might have been additional seating in the lower level but we didn't venture down there.

We started with very good wine and the red tonno appetizer. That was followed by the Stracciata appetizer with zucchini and mint oil and it was outrageously good, albeit super rich. My husband ordered a plate of house curated cheeses and meats. Simple but pretty yummy. I enjoyed the Cacio e Pepe but it definitely didn't measure up to some of the others I had in Rome.

The food here is very enjoyable. If it weren't for the gruff service and the small cramped digs filled with tons of tourists instead of locals, I would have given 4 stars. I've been told though that they make some of the best pizza in Rome. And I trust my source as she is a lifelong Roman citizen. So I would definitely give that a shot here.

This place books every night so a reservation is required, options include the bar, the back room, the wine cellar or IN the deli area.

Deli was all that was available so I snagged it.

It took me a few days to understand the bread and olives and cheese that waiters give out are free for all. I just thought they liked us.

I was seated next to some very expensive truffles.

The best pomodoro sauce with crispy pork cheek pasta I've ever had.

I don't think I've ever seen my husband so happy in his life than when we were here. What a special night and dinner we had.

    Perfection!

Roscioli!  This was one of two places we made reservations at months ahead of time because we HAD to go while we were in Rome.  We had a 9:30 PM reservation and found it nice and full in there when we arrived.  I really love the space, which is sort of small, but makes it feel cozy.  We started with the burrata and sundried tomatoes and WHOA.  This was the best cheese we ate in all of Italy and I didn't even think I liked burrata.  We also had the anchovies and they were SO SALTY, so maybe skip those.  Entree-wise, my husband had the carbonara and I had the rigatoni alla amatriciana an just wow!  I have zero complaints.  It was all so good.

My one criticism is not of the restaurant, but of all the annoying American diners, which is all that seemed to be in the restaurant.  Let's maybe chill out on asking for the wifi password, filming the delivery of your food and being really impatient about ordering.  Yikes!
